The Bathroom

Zen & Organic

This bathroom was stuck in the past and the home owners wanted a fresh look. Their hope was for a modern space with a natural feel that both husband and wife would enjoy. The room was to be used by multiple members of the home, so functionality was important.

To achieve this goal, the room was going to need a complete overhaul. For the modern, natural feeling the couple desired, I chose to work with slate slabs, travertine tiles, dark wood, brushed nickel and colored glass. By building a custom vanity, I was able to open up the space. The slate and glass were able to create a focal area and define a personal zone. To add function, I built a ledge in front of the sinks and an alcove in the shower.

Living Room / Kitchen

Romantic & Comfortable

Being the activity center of the home, this space needed to provide high functionality and an entertaining zone for guests. The kitchen table and counters were not just used for food in this family. They were also used for work, school projects, and a drop zone for papers and mail. The new design allows all of these tasks to ensue with added storage and a lifestyle contusive design.

Bedroom

Regency & Feminine

Some projects get started and lost in the middle. This bedrooms dream was to be a comfortable, natural take on Hollywood regency. Unfortunately, after having the furniture, the homeowner didn’t know where to go next.

To bring this dream room into reality, a little drama was brought in. The walls were treated with a chair rail and wallpapered paneling. The window treatments and bed were made fuller and multidimensional. A color pallet of black and white with pops of yellow was used through out the space for a regency feel. To finish the space, sparkling glass and high gloss accents were strung throughout.

Game Room

Warm & Inviting

Often a basement can be forgotten as anything more than storage. This basement was at one point intended to be a place for friends and family to enjoy a game of pool and socialize. Unfortunately, it looked and felt so cold it was seldom used.

Applying inexpensive flooring over the concrete, applying window treatments, and adding warmer tones eliminated the cold feeling. Decorative storage was created for billiard accessories. To facilitate the room’s intentions, tables and seating were added for guests to socialize. Finally a minibar was added to keep the space alive.
